I sent in my check for the Outlaws in Branson Mo. Reunion. The itinerary looks like a great time to be had. I connected with my AC Joe Torre and will be seeing him there, I hadn't seen him since he DEROSed. I never forgot the great people I was with.

I regret to inform you that my father passed away from congestive heart failure at the age of 69. He's now flying with the Angels. We know some of you know my dad very well, and considered him a brother in arms. My father would like you to know that he loved every single one of you and the camaraderie between y'all was great. I will miss my dad very much, but all you have to do is look up and just know that Maverick 36 rides again. On the behalf of his loving wife Terry Shearer his beautiful daughter Alexis Shearer and his other beautiful daughter Carin Shearer and myself Alex Shearer, we will truly miss him. We can't wait until the day we can reconvene in the kingdom of heaven. |

Bob,
That’s the Day I signed into the Outlaws. I walked into the orderly room while the officers were talking about the assault. Best I remember it scared the sh*# out of me! The officer said “We have some people hurt and a helicopter down and he was mad when he was saying it. There was another officer in the room who saw me come in the room and listening to conversation and he asked me, ‘WHAT DO YOU WANT? And I said that I was assigned to the 175 Assault Helicopter Company as a door gunner. He knew I heard the conversation about the assault and then asked me “Do you still want to be a door gunner? And I said timidly’ I guess?
I never knew Persinger. After I started flying I remember one of the crew members say “Give it to them for Persinger!”
