To add a little bit of trivia, the Bushwacker Insignia was designed and painted on the nose of the original Cobra Helicopters by our first Platoon Leader Captain Charles Edwards, may he rest in peace. | Comments: | Someone asked me if I had any contact with my old unit and my answer was no. So, I decided to investigate and after typing in some old unit numbers and call signs I stumbled across this site.
Looks Great! One question, where is the Bushwacker insignia?? I was the armament specialist for the Outlaws, Mavericks and set up all of the orignal Bushwacker cobra's with their respective, mini guns, grenade launchers and rockets. Flew many times with Beau Hayner and strapped Mamie Van Dorn into the front seat of Beau's Cobra one night for a midnight flight. |
